14-year compensation battle finally won
It's taken 14 years, but tonight a mother has won her legal battle against a hospital whose errors left her son brain damaged at birth.
Charlie Scott, from Dorset, was starved of oxygen and born with a serious form of cerebral palsy. It has left him unable to walk, talk, sit up or drink without help.
His mother, Clare, has now been awarded more than £7m damages after her lawyers proved midwives were at fault. Sally Simmonds takes up the story.
