"A wretched, unnecessary project that has no case." That is how House of Commons Speaker and Buckingham MP John Bercow described the £32 billion pound High Speed 2 project today.
As Speaker Mr Bercow is independent but in an exclusive interview with Meridian he says he has to oppose the scheme because it is so bad. This report is from our transport correspondent Mike Pearse. He also spoke to Buckinghamshire resident Mike Wood and Martin Wells from the HS2 project.
