Former police detective Ivan Esack was today jailed for life for the brutal murder of his estranged wife - and must serve a minimum term of 28 years.
Passing sentence, the judge said he'd planned the killing "to the minute" before he knifed Natalie Esack 11 times at her hair salon in Ashford.
It's emerged that Natalie contacted police about her threatening husband four times between 2009 and a month before the murder.
Her family have praised the force but a leading domestic abuse charity says Kent Police could and should have done more to protect her.
Derek Johnson reports and speaks Jim Wilkinson, Natalie's father, Natalie's boyfriend Justin Khadaroo and Det Ch Insp Paul Fotheringham.
After weeks of trying to turn things around, HMV will appoint administrators Deloitte, tomorrow morning.
