Oxford 'child rape' trial starts

Oxford child prostitution ring case at Old Bailey

Nine men are on trial at the Old Bailey accused of running a child prostitution ring.

The accused men, all from the Oxford area, are Akhtar Dogar, 32, Anjum Dogar, 30, Bassam Karrar, 32, Mohammed Karrar, 38, Kamar Jamil, 27, Zeeshan Ahmed, 27, Assad Hussain, 32, Bilal Ahmed, 26, and Mohammed Hussain, 24.

One of the six victims the charges relate to, was said to have first been abused when she was 11 or 12 years old; the other victims were said to have been first abused when they were thirteen.

The men deny 51 counts including rape, trafficking and organising prostitution between 2004 and 2011.
