The MP for Eastleigh, Chris Huhne has announced that he is resigning from his post.
The news comes after the former cabinet minister pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice over claims his ex-wife took speeding points for him a decade ago. He made the admission at Southwark Crown Court on the first day of his trial over the matter.
