A fire that destroyed much of a building in Lagos Street, Swindon, last night is believed to have started accidentally, firefighters said.
Crews were called to Baraka Groceries just before 10pm, where they found the first floor of the premises "well alight".
The incident was under control by 2.20am but firefighters remained at the scene throughout the night damping down the building.
The fire destroyed the first floor and roof while the shop itself suffered smoke and water damage.
Firefighters said that a full investigation was not possible as the building has been deemed unsafe by Swindon Borough Council’s building control officer.
But while there are no suspicious circumstances, the exact cause of the blaze is likely to remain unknown.
