From the Heart: 'Anxiety about donation'

Consultant transplant physician Dr Paul Harden, from Oxford, says there's an 'anxiety about donation' and a lot of misconceptions about the risks involved. Every day 3 people will die waiting for a transplant, due to the desperate shortage of donor organs.

There are currently ten thousand people waiting for a transplant, and none of them know whether they will get the call in time. We'll be exploring the issue of organ donation in our From the Heart series this week.
