A police investigation is underway to find out who is responsible for knocking down or damaging more than forty garden walls in the Highfield and Bassett areas of Southampton. Hampshire Police say a group of youngsters on small stunt bicycles may be responsible. Cars have also been damaged.
Police want to hear from anyone who has experienced such damage but has not yet reported it. Officers have been out on patrol, but have not caught the offenders who they say seem to target one area, rest for a few weeks and then move to another part of town. The incidents happen after 6pm.
Inspector Sharman Wicks from Portswood said: “Someone must know who is doing this, either because they have seen them or because they have heard some boasting,”
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police at Portswood on 101, quoting Operation Hadrian.
