Wiltshire Police is maintaining increased patrols in Swindon after tyres were slashed on almost 90 cars.
So far the force has received almost 90 separate reports of vandalism from owners of vehicles which have been damaged – many whose tyres have been slashed.
Vehicles parked on several residential streets on were targeted from 3am and 5am yesterday morning.
Inspector Joseph Saunders said CCTV in the area is being examined.
He said: “This investigation is still very much active and we maintain an increased presence in the affected areas."
