Police are appealing for witnesses following eight burglaries in Gosport between Wednesday and Saturday last week.
A Samurai sword was among the items taken on Thursday, at around 3am, when a brick was thrown through the window of a house in Ferrol Road.
The offender then reached through the broken window in order to steal the weapon.
There have been a number of burglaries in the Elson and Forton area and we are keeping an open mind as to whether these offences are linked.
“Some of the properties were entered via insecure doors and I would like to take this opportunity to remind members of the public to ensure they lock and secure all doors and windows before they go to bed or leave the house.
“I’d like to hear from anyone that has been offered any of the stolen property for sale, or who has information about the people responsible for these offences.”
