Former Romsey MP Sandra Gidley says she raised concerns to Nick Clegg over allegations made against Lord Rennard back in 2007. The former chief executive of the Lib Dems denies allegations that he had behaved improperly towards women in the party on a number of occasions.
Ms Gidley says she hopes her comments will jog the Lib Dem leader's memory of their conversation. The controversy surrounding Lord Rennard and the Liberal Democrat leader's knowledge of allegations has come ahead of a crucial by-election in the Eastleigh constituency tomorrow.
