Station Road at its junction with the A339 is closed until the end of the project in September. Alternative access to Newbury Station will be in place via St John’s Road, and will be clearly signed.
The bridge will be closed in both directions overnight Saturday 9 March between 9pm and 8am, and Sunday 10 March between 9pm and 6am while specialist scaffolding equipment, and narrow lanes and a reduced 30mph speed limit are installed across the bridge.
Throughout the scheme there will then be off peak lane closures and occasional overnight full closures between 9pm and 6am (Mondays to Friday) and 9pm to 8am (Saturdays and Sundays). The full closures will be publicised in advance.
