Army explosives experts have carried out a controlled detonation of a suspicious item found at the household waste recycling centre in Bedford Road in Petersfield in Hampshire.
The site will remain closed for the rest of the day while investigations continue, but the exclusion zone covering adjoining roads has been lifted. Police said there is no risk of danger to the public.
