Massive drugs haul found in lorry
The drugs were found in specially constructed metal boxes placed under a lorry.
It was found after officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate stopped the lorry in Sandy Lane in Ashford. It was towing a 40ft refrigerated container.
When they searched the lorry, officers discovered two bright blue metal boxes which contained the cannabis resin.
It weighed 1.7 tons and has an estimated street value of £4.9m.
The driver and two other men were arrested. The search of the lorry followed the seizure of 200kg of the drug and the arrest of two men in Paddock Wood on March 4
