Police have issued a description of a man who went missing from Hampshire and whose car was found in a field in Kent.
Alex Child was wearing a blue or black short waterproof jacket, blue jeans and navy chunky trainers with white rubber around the sole.
He wore a dark beanie hat, which may have had stripes. He is described as white, 6ft tall and of slim build with cropped straight mousey brown hair and dark blue eyes. Police are treating Mr Child's disappearance as unexplained.
There are no suspicious circumstances, and nothing to suggest a crime, foul play or third party involvement.
We are increasingly concerned for his welfare. The Morris Marina was his pride and joy, and it is hard to believe he would abandon it unlocked. No one can give us any reason why he would travel to Kent. Perhaps someone saw a man of Mr Child's description in the Birchington area. He could have been walking along the roads or hitch hiking. Perhaps he was at a train or bus station. If so, we need to know."
