Drills with Algerian patrol boat

On departure from Algeria, HMS Cattistock conducted a series of manoeuvres and drills with the Algerian Patrol Boat, Al Mirfak, which presented an opportunity to exchange personnel and allow them a chance to experience life on board the different units.

The warmth and hospitality of the Algerians has been overwhelming and, while this has not been the first visit by a NATO group, it has probably been one of the mostsuccessful. I hope there will be many more such meetings in the future."

– Lt Cdr Steve Higham, HMS Cattistock’s Commanding Officer

HMS Cattistock continues to lead mine counter measure operations as part of a four-month deployment in the Mediterranean. She will head to the UK later in the year to commence retraining for further operational tasking.
