Arsonist blown up by car fire

Police are appealing for information after an arson attack that may have left a fire bomber badly injured.

Explosion. Was this arsonist badly burned? It happened on Sunday 31st March 2013 between 2.30am and 3am at the Mookrakers pub car park, Gorse Hill, Swindon. A silver Renault Megane parked in the pub car park was set alight. It happens at 57 seconds into the video.

CCTV images show a suspect on a bike approach the vehicle in the car park before setting it on fire. The vehicle then explodes into flames and it is believed that the suspect may have suffered burns as a result of this explosion before then cycling down the side of the pub.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
