Police are appealing for information after a sexual assault in a Southampton park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 25-year-old woman was walking home through East Park after when she was grabbed by two men who indecently assaulted her.
The victim described them as tall, black, and in their early thirties. One had short hair, the other a short beard.
The victim has told us that she was attacked sometime between midnight and 2am on Sunday morning in a section of the park near the junction of the Charlotte Place roundabout with the Jurys Inn on it and Brunswick Place.
I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area between those times and thinks they saw anything suspicious to contact us.
I understand that reports of incidents like this can cause people to worry about their personal safety; I would reiterate our usual advice to people travelling home from a night out which is to use a licensed taxi for their journey or to walk home with friends and keep to well lit areas.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Det Insp Scrase at Southampton Central police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
