Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the A2 near Canterbury on Tuesday.
Kent Police were called at about 1:35pm to a report that a lorry had collided with a bridge on the London bound carriageway near Bishopbourne.
The man driving a Polish-registered Renault lorry died at the scene.
The coast bound carriageway was shut due to debris from the collision in the road until 6.15pm.
The london bound carriageway remained shut until just after midnight to allow emergency services to work at the scene.
