Police say that at about 6.40pm, they may have been seen in Wide Lane, near Parkway railway station, Eastleigh. Another unconfirmed sighting put them near the Fleming Arms pub, Sholing, at about 7.30pm. In Sholing, they were in the company of two boys their own age.
PC Kelly Drodge appealed to the two girls and their friends.
She said: “The police and your families are very concerned for your welfare. You are only 14, and we are told it is unusual for you not to be in contact with your families after two days.
“It is possible that your mobile phones are not charged, so contact is difficult. It is important that you either borrow a phone, dial 999 and ask for Hampshire police or report to a police station so it can be established that you are safe and well."
The officer also appealed to anyone who knows where the girls are or who has seen them since Tuesday to contact police at Eastleigh on 101.
