A 16-year-old girl has died and another teenager is seriously injured after the car they were travelling in left the road and hit a building in Havant last night. Three teenagers were in the Vauxhall Tigra on Petersfield Road when the accident happened.

The car struck part of the Staunton Country Park building. Police were called just before 10.45pm. A 16-year-old girl, who was a passenger was declared dead at the scene. The young male driver, who was injured, was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.

A rear-seat passenger, believed to be a male in his teens, sustained serious head and leg injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital. The building was unoccupied and nobody else was hurt.
