An estimated 50,000 people attended day one of Royal Ascot 2013, which was also attended by Her Majesty The Queen and several other members of the Royal family.
Silver policing commander Supt Steve Hockin said: “I am pleased to report the first day of this prestigious event has been a success with no significant incidents to report.
“Those attending have been extremely good natured with the sole intention of enjoying their day at the races.
“Two men were arrested for minor public order offences, but both were given Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs).
“Traffic was particularly heavy during the late morning around the racecourse, which is to be expected with an event of this size."
