Firefighters have been tackling a blaze in Sheerness this afternoon after a four-story block of flats went up in flames. Six fire engines tackled the blaze at Marine Parade and local roads were closed while emergency crews were on the scene.
Six people were treated at the scene, including one person who was rescued by firefighters from the building. The extent of their injuries is not yet known. An investigation into the cause of the fire will begin later this evening.
