WWII Arctic Convoy hero's funeral has taken place

The funeral has taken place of an Arctic Convoy veteran who played a key part in gaining recognition for the sacrifices made by his comrades. Commander Eddie Grenfell had long campaiged for a medal to honour those who kept supplies going to Russia during the Second World War.

The 93-year-old died just a few months after receiving his own Arctic Star medal. Sally Simmonds reports.

Funeral of Arctic Convoy hero

The funeral is to take place today of Commander Eddie Grenfell from Hampshire. Earlier this year the WWII veteran won his battle for recognition of those who took part in the Arctic Convoys of the Second World War.
