An inquest has heard how a Sussex opera star died after his car was involved in a head on collision. Robert Poulton died from his injuries on the way to hospital in Brighton.
The crash happened on the B2102 at Cross-in-Hand, near Heathfield in October 2012. The driver of the other car, 19-year-old Jessica Christie-Surges, died at the scene of the accident.
Mr Poulton - a Brighton-based baritone, had been a regular performer at Glynebourne. The Music Director of The Royal Opera, described him as "a wonderful colleague blessed with a superb voice." Malcolm Shaw sent this report from the inquest in Eastbourne.
