Two people are in police custody after an armed robbery of a security van in Chatham yesterday. Kent Police were called at 9.30am on Friday to a supermarket on Maidstone Road after it was reported security van staff were threatened with what is believed to have been a small hand gun.
Officers carried out a search of the area and following intelligence, a warrant was executed at an address in Gillingham. Two people were arrested and a quantity of cash recovered. A 41-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both from Gillingham, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
