A 21-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman in her forties was shot during the early hours. Police were called at 5.07am today after reports of a shooting in Crowberry Road in the Blackbird Leys area of Oxford.
The victim is currently in a stable condition at the nearby John Radcliffe Hospital. A 26-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, both from Oxford, have also been arrested on suspicion of affray. All three men are currently in custody.
Det Insp John Turner, from Thames Valley Police, said: 'I would like to reassure the local community that incidents such as these are extremely rare. Police officers and PCSOs will be undertaking extra patrols in the area to provide a reassurance to the community of Blackbird Leys.'
