Thames Valley Police have been called to an incident in Reading where a man has injuries believed to be caused by stabbing.
The victim was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment and is in a serious but stable condition.
The incident took place in the Gun Street and Minster Street area, Reading, at 3.45am this morning.
Currently, Gun Street and Minster Street are closed to traffic and pedestrians.
Thames Valley Police is working together with local authorities to minimise disruption to the public.
The investigation is currently at a very early stage and we are in the process of establishing what has happened to the victim. Our main focus is locating those responsible.
We understand this has involved disruption and road closures to parts of Reading town centre, however, this is a critical part of the investigation and we ask for the public’s understanding while this investigation takes place.”
