An elderly woman was conned by two men who called at her home claiming to be from a housing association.
The two men called at a 88-year-old woman's home in Whitchurch on July 29 between 10.15-11.50am.
They said they were from Kingfisher Housing Association and that they were there to fix a problem with damp in her home.
They told the woman she would have to pay £4,800 to fix the problem but they were not from the Association and it is believed to be a scam.
The alarm was raised and the men left her home without taking any money.
The first man is described as white, aged in his 40s, 6ft tall, well-built with brown hair.
The second man is white, 5ft9ins, medium build and had darker hair than the first man.
They were seen in a small white car.
