A laptop, mobile phone and cash were stolen as part of a burglary in flats at Southsea.
Police have released CCTV images of a man entering the self-contained flats above The Jolly Sailor Pub in Clarence Parade.
He came into the building through a first floor window using an external fire escape sometime between 8.55pm and 9.30pm on Sunday, August 4.
He tried several door handles before gaining entry to at least three flats.
Det Con Charlie Cox said: "This was an audacious series of burglaries committed during a very short period of time. The offender can be seen to be wearing very distinctive shorts. Have you seen this man? Do you recognise him?"
