Young woman attacked in Southsea

A 20-year-old woman was attacked while on a night out in Southsea.

The young woman and her friend were walking back to their car on Thursday, August 15 at 2.30am when the assault happened.

She was punched in the back of the head and then kicked in the stomach while on the ground in the Kings Street and Gloucester View area.

The woman received cuts and bruises to her head and was taken to hospital.

£35 cash, a red purse and bank cards were stolen from her in the attack.

Two white men, one of them bare-chested, are being treated as suspects.

This was a cowardly unprovoked attack on a defenceless woman. We believe someone will know the attackers, and may have seen them or heard about this assault."
