The owner of Golden Fried Chicken in Hove has been fined almost £12,000.
Muharram Kartel pleaded guilty to 17 counts of failing to comply with food hygiene regulations.
Mouse droppings, blood, and the build up of fat on uncleaned equipment were some of the things discovered at the take-away shop on Church Road, Hove in January.
Councillor Pete West, Environment Councillor said, “There is no excuse for appalling conditions such as these and, despite lots of advice and visits, the premises failed to respond, leaving us no alternative but to intervene to protect the public.”
