Police are working with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Coastguard to search for a 22-year-old man who is believed to have fallen into a quarry of water yesterday.
It is thought the man slipped and fell into water, about 40 metres deep, at Bakers Farm Nursery in Kingsley.
We advise everyone to be extra vigilant around areas of water and to know the risks. Quarries are not for swimming - water may look safe but it can be very dangerous. Don't go to areas of water alone or if you do, make sure you tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return, take extra care around the waters edge and learn how to help yourself and others if you find yourself in an emergency situation.
