A pedestrian who died in a car collision in Gosport has been named today.
87-year-old Peter Hebert was hit by a car at 8.17am on Wednesday 28th August.
The incident happened on Mumby Road outside the Clarence Wharf Industrial Estate.
Mr Hebert suffered a serious injury and was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
He was hit by a Ford Focus and the 36-year old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle or pedestrian before the crash.
