People are being urged to ‘take extra care’ when firefighters go out on strike later today.
A four hour walk-out is scheduled from midday as part of a national dispute between the Fire Brigades’ Union (FBU) and the Government over pensions.
Wiltshire Chief Fire Officer Simon Routh-Jones said: “While the industrial action is on-going, we will still respond to 999 calls but it may take us a little longer than usual to arrive as the appliances may be sent from a different location to normal.
"We would therefore urge everyone to take extra care to stay safe, which will hopefully reduce the number of calls we receive.”
