A £450m waterfront development in Southampton is a step closer to reality. Landowners Associated British Ports' board delegated the authority to sign a vital agreement on behalf of ABP to Southampton's port director.
The agreement will be signed within the next few months by the three landowners ABP, Council and Crown Estate and the developer Morgan Sindall Investments Ltd. Public consultation on the development will take place prior to the planning application being submitted later in 2014.
The scheme will include offices, homes, shops and leisure facilities. Southampton City Council said the scheme would create better public access to the shoreline and an improved site for the annual international boat show.
