Dead Police officer honoured

Prince Charles is honouring the memory of dead police officers at a ceremony in Cardiff. One of those is PC Steve Rawson, who died in Southampton.

The 40 year old from Fareham was riding an unmarked motorbike that collided with a BMW on Thomas Lewis Way on April 3rd.**

His widow recently thanked the public for their kindness after almost £18,000 was raised for her family.**

The 36-year-old said the money would be used to help their two children.**

"The generosity and kindness shown by people from all over the country has brought my family comfort during this difficult time.**

"I can't put into words how grateful I am, the money raised will help my children which is of great relief to me.**

"Thank you so much for your kindness."**

More than 1,000 officers and staff from Hampshire Constabulary signed up to donate £1 from their salaries in May.**

Other funds have been raised by the sale of pin badges and through donations from across the country.**
