The maintenance will be carried out over five nights from tomorrow on the bridge which carries the A3 over the A322 roundabout. The work will take place from Monday 7 October for five nights, finishing on the morning of Saturday 12 October.
All work will take place overnight between 10pm and 6am and in lanes with signage about the 10mph speed limit in place on approach to the work.
The work will involve the resurfacing of the westbound carriageway and then the replacement of a bridge joint which supports traffic on the A3. This means the bridge will continue to safely carry traffic on the A3 and the need for emergency work in the future will be reduced.
