Horse riders to patrol the countryside to help the police

Horse riders in Hampshire are being asked to patrol parts of the country side to support the local police force, as they no longer have the funding to cover it. The Rural Mounted Patrol will cover the area, but will have the same power of arrest as any other citizen.

We spoke to Chief Superintendent Jason Hogg from Hampshire Police.
