Police and local people in St Leonards searched for two small boys aged 6 and 7 who ran off from school at the end of lessons. The pupils ran off from Silverdale primary school in Perth Road, St Leonards shortly after 3.15pm on Friday 11 October and widespread search was mounted.
However the two were found safe and well in the Old Town area of Hastings less than two hours later by a member of the public.
A Sussex Police spokesman said; "We don't know exactly why they ran off but there no suspicious circumstances and they are being re-united with their parents. Our thanks go to everyone who helped in the search"
