A 25-year old Southampton man has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with 400 missing budgies.
No birds have yet been recovered and the police are still appealing for information about the whereabouts of the birds.
The man is on bail until January 2nd 2014 while enquiries continue.
The budgies are thought to be worth around £60,000 and were taken sometime between the evening of Sunday 13th October and the early hours of Monday 14th October.
The birds were kept in a large garage at the end of the breeders home in Upton Crescent, Southampton.
Police believe the thieves escaped with the birds through a golf course which runs behind the property.
