Police are investigating a nasty assault on a taxi driver in Gravesend.
The driver picked up two men who needed to get to Denton.
As they asked him to stop, the front passenger threatened the driver with a sharp object.
He was then sprayed with something in the eye.
As he ran from the taxi and began knocking doors for help on Shamrock Road, the men approached him again and began to kick and punch him.
The taxi driver threw his mobile phone on the floor and the two men picked it up and ran.
The men ran off in the direction of Dickens Road at around 12:30am.
One of the offenders has been described as a white man, between 20 and 25, of slim build with short dark hair. He spoke with an accent and wore a blue hooded top.
