Detectives have released the names of two teenage girls who died following a road traffic collision in Gosport. Jasmine Allsop, aged 14, sadly died at the scene of the collision in Ann’s Hill Road in Gosport. Olivia Lewry, aged 16, was taken to hospital but also sadly died.
The girls were both pedestrians and were involved in a collision with a green Honda Civic car which was being driven along the road at about 4am today. Detectives from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Investigation Team launched a murder investigation earlier today.
Detective Superintendent Dick Pearson said: 'This is an extremely tragic incident which has resulted in the death of two young girls.' A 20-year-old man from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
