A large section of one of the Thames Valley's major roads will be closed for the weekend - leaving drivers with a 68 mile diversion.
The A34 will be shut southbound between the Milton Interchange, just north of Didcot and Chieveley - from 10 o'clock on the night of Friday 15th November 2013 until 6 o'clock on the morning of Monday 18th November 2013.
The normal 34 mile drive will be doubled as drivers try to make their way around the roadworks.
The Highways Agency says the work - on one part of the carriageway - is essential to resurface the stretch of road and waterproof it. Penny Silvester has been gauging the impact of the work.
