The UK's biggest employer of people from the Philippines has donated more than one million dollars to the appeal fund for the typhoon disaster. Meanwhile, Portsmouth based warship HMS Daring has arrived at the country's aid.

PHOTOS: HMS Daring provides shelter kits in Philippines

The Portsmouth-based destroyer HMS Daring is in the Philippines helping those who have been devastated by the Typhoon.

125 shelter packs provided by The Department for International Development (DFID) - each containing four family sized kits and nearly 1000 litres of fresh drinking water - have been distributed to communities on Canas, Calagnaan and Tulunanaun islands to the north east of the island of Panay.
