Southeastern announces station closure

No train services are currently stopping at Newington station.

A burst water main has caused structural damage to a nearby bridge, resulting in the closure of the two railway tracks that serve Newington station.

Train services can still operate between Rainham and Sittingbourne, with a 5mph speed restriction in place.

On 9th December 2013, a rail replacement bus service will operate between Newington station, Rainham and Sittingbourne to get passengers to connecting train services.

Network Rail are working as fast as they can to repair the damage caused to the bridge.
