The family of a pension who died in a hit and run have urged the driver to do the right thing and come forward.
Christopher Colgate, who was 69-years-old and from Poole was hit by the vehicle which failed to stop.
He was taken to Poole Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries but died a short time later.
Mr Colegate was frail and used two walking sticks to help him walk.
His family have said, "As a family we are devastated. This has ruined our Christmas.
"Christopher always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed building things with them. It will never be the same again and it is already difficult for them to understand."
Police are asking anyone with information to call Dorset Police on 101, quoting number 13:478.
