Man hurt in Petersfield car crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured when his car collided with a tree on the B2070 London Road, Petersfield on Saturday 14th December.

Sometime between the early hours and 6.30am, a blue Fiat Bravo came off the road and collided with a tree near to Durford Woods.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Petersfield, was found unconscious in the car by a passing motorist who called paramedics.

He was treated at the scene by ambulance crews and taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed for five hours whilst police conducted an examination of the scene and recovered the car.
