The Fire Brigades Union has announced it will strike on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and on New Year's Day.
The strikes come as part of a disagreement with the Government over changes to firefighters' pensions and working arrangements.
The action will involve firefighters working across our region including Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
During these periods, most of us will be safely at home with friends and family but we are once again asking people to Take Extra Care to reduce risk as much as possible. As before, we will still be answering and responding to 999 calls, although we will be prioritising ‘life critical’ incidents, such as house fires and road traffic collisions where people are trapped. You can help keep yourself and your family safe by ensuring you have smoke alarms fitted to every level of your home and testing the batteries regularly to make sure they are working."
