Detectives in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery left the victim with a broken rib.
A 47-year-old local man was walking down Beverley Road, Littlemoor on Sunday 5th January when four young men approached him.
One of the men demanded money and a mobile phone before attacking him.
The victim managed to escape without any of his property stolen, but he sustained injuries from the attack, including a broken rib.
The main offender has been described as white, in his late teens, of slim build and 5'9" with a grade one or two crew cut. He was wearing a grey hooded top, dark blue jeans and white trainers.
Witnesses should call 101, quoting 05:140.
